Pastor Joel R. Nembhard hails from the cool hills of Coleyville in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica. He grew up attending the Coleyville Seventh-day Adventist Church and was baptized at age 15. He attended Christiana Secondary School and West Indies College High School (now Victor Dixon High School) before going on to Northern Caribbean University where he completed his BA in Religion and Theology. In 2001 he graduated from Andrews University with an MA in Religion.

In 1986, Pastor Nembhard began his pastoral ministry when he was called by the Central Jamaica Conference to serve as a Pastor/Evangelist. There he served a number of multi-church pastoral districts for approximately 15 years. In addition, he served as a member of the Central Jamaica Conference Executive Committee for six years and Ministerial Coordinator in the parish of Manchester for three years.

Since accepting the call from the Ontario Conference in 2001, Pastor Nembhard has served as the senior pastor of the Toronto Perth Avenue (five years) and Kingsview Village (four years) Seventh-day Adventist Churches before being assigned to the Mississauga Seventh-day Adventist Church as Senior Pastor.

Pastor Nembhard has been happily married, for more than 21 years, to the beautiful Deidre Hall who gives strong support and balance to his ministry. She is a graduate of Northern Caribbean University and is a teacher by profession. Currently she is employed by the Toronto District School Board. They are the very proud parents of two children. Their daughter Jode-Leigh is a freshman at Oakwood University and son Roshane is a junior in High School.
